ASFS 2016 Adelaide Report


The organising committee in Adelaide for the 2016 conference writes the following:

Now that a week has passed since our conference and most of you will have returned home, we write to thank you for your collaboration, collegiality and generosity in Adelaide.  The panels were fabulous, the keynote speeches were inspiring, the intellectual exchange was stimulating and the conviviality was unfaltering.

  • 1 lecture on a ship
  • 50 3-course dinners at the National Wine Centre of Australia
  • 64 paper presentations
  • 42 female presenters
  • 22 male presenters
  • 13 empty bottles of wine at the wine tasting event
  • 0 spittoons at the wine tasting event
  • 19 international attendees
  • 2 sponsored panels
  • 29 universities represented

 

We hope to meet you all again at other conferences and we particularly hope that colleagues who came to Australia and to Adelaide for the first time will be leaving with fond memories; we have many too.
